MAGGI Ghana Monkor Challenge Terms and Conditions



1.1. The MAGGI MONKOR CHALLENGE Competition is built on the popularity of MAGGI Monkor to spread a trend amongst Ghanaians through music and dance.

1.2. Participation in the MAGGI Monkor Challenge (“Competition”) is governed by these Terms and Conditions (the “T&Cs”).

1.3. By participating in this Competition/Challenge, each Participant fully and unconditionally agrees to these T&Cs.

1.4. Participants acknowledge that they have read, understood and shall comply with these T&Cs.

1.5. The Challenge will run from 8th October 2021 to 15th December 2021.



2.1. This Competition is open to residents and/or citizens living in Ghana aged eighteen (18) years or over.

2.2. In addition, the following people shall not be eligible to participate in this Competition/Challenge:

  • Employees of the Agency and Client.
  • Immediate family members of the Agency and Client, including spouses, parents, children, siblings, business partners and associates.
  • Anyone otherwise connected to MAGGI, the Agency or stakeholders judging the Competition.


3.1. Details of how to enter the Challenge will be shared via MAGGI Ghana social media pages. Entries for the Challenge however, must be made via Tiktok or Instagram to be considered valid.

3.2. Participants are permitted to enter the Competition once with one (1) submission, provided the submission consists of the Monkor Song, the Monkor Dance and the task given to be performed.

3.3. Neither the Agency (Publicis West Africa) nor the Client shall be responsible for submissions not received for whatever reason.



4.1. To participate or enter this Competition/Challenge, Participants are required to:

  • Dance to the Monkor song and perform the Monkor Dance
  • Perform the task stipulated by the Challenge

4.2. The Participants shall submit their videos either on Tiktok or Instagram (feed, reels) with the hashtag #MonkorChallenge. Without this hashtag, entries will not be deemed valid.

4.3. Participants with private accounts are advised to directly message MAGGI Ghana on Facebook or Instagram to share their entries.

4.4. The Dance created and submitted by the Participants should be original to them and not subject to any third-party rights or encumbrances. Participants must enter the competition/challenge using the MAGGI Monkor song, which will be made available through Instagram reels and TikTok, as well as on the MAGGI website.

4.5. The Agency (Publicis West Africa) reserves the right to immediately disqualify Participants who submit dances that are not original or contrary to the T&Cs of this Competition/Challenge.

4.6. By taking part in this Competition:

a. Participants grant to the Agency (Publicis West Africa) and the Client the right, license and privilege to repost or reference a dance submitted whether individually or collectively with any other material, in any and all forms of media or for any other lawful use as may be determined by the Agency (Publicis West Africa) and the Client in their sole and exclusive discretion.

b. Participants consent to the communication and publication of their names, likeness, image in any and all forms of media at any time in any territory. The Agency (Publicis West Africa) and the Client shall not be liable for any unauthorized use, reproduction, adaptations, and publication of Participants’ images by third parties. Participants release and indemnify the Agency (Publicis West Africa) and the Client from and against all actions, liabilities, penalties, claims or demands Participants may have against the Agency (Publicis West Africa) and the Client or that the Agency (Publicis West Africa) and the Client may incur for any loss, damage, claim or lawsuit which is or may be suffered or sustained as a direct or indirect result of participation in the Competition or winning or failing to win a prize.


5.1. Entries considered will be those exclusive to TikTok and Instagram with the hashtag #Monkorchallenge.

5.2. The Agency (Publicis West Africa) will shortlist and select 10 winners per Challenge to be rewarded.

  • For each Challenge as well, 5 other winners who guess correctly the order of the Top 4 winning dances will be shortlisted and rewarded. These winners would be picked from Facebook and Instagram.

5.3. For entries that are incomplete or inaudible, Client and Agency (Publicis West Africa) reserve the right to exclude from shortlisted entries.

5.4. For entrants who decide to submit more than one (1) entry, be it on the same platform or on both platforms (i.e Tiktok and/or Instagram), Agency & Client reserve the right to select which one will be entered in the competition.

5.5. Prizes as stipulated in this T&C will be awarded as mentioned herein.


6.1. The Client shall co-own the intellectual property rights in all dances that are created and submitted by Participants for the Competition/Challenge.

6.2. Notwithstanding clause 6.1 above, the Client shall have the exclusive copyright to the top winning dances as submitted by the Overall Prize Winners.


7.1. Prizes shall be awarded as follows:

  • 1st winner – 2000ghc cash voucher
  • 2nd winner – 1,500ghc cash voucher
  • 3rd winner – 1,000ghc cash voucher
  • 4th winner – 500gh cash voucher
  • 5th to 10th winners – 200ghc cash vouchers each


7.2. The award of prizes shall be subject to Participants’ compliance with the T&Cs of the Competition.

7.3. Prizes are only redeemable in Ghana for Winners and are not exchangeable or transferable.

7.4. Prizes of GHc 500.00 cash vouchers will also be awarded to the first 5 persons who are able to guess correctly which videos win the MAGGI Monkor Challenge, from 1st place to 4th place.


8.1. A potential prize winner is not an actual winner at the time of being contacted. Contact will be made with a potential prize winner to ensure that all the T&Cs of the Competition/Challenge have been complied with.

8.2. At the time that the potential prize winners are identified, the potential prize winners will receive a telephone/WhatsApp call or message/SMS/Message on Social Media from a representative of the Agency or MAGGI.

8.3. The Agency (Publicis West Africa) shall require the potential winners to submit copies of a valid national identification card before redeeming their prize.

8.4. A potential winner found not to have complied with the T&Cs, shall automatically be disqualified and the prize shall be forfeited.

8.5. The Agency (Publicis West Africa) will notify Validated Winners of the location, place and time where prizes can be collected/ delivered. In the event a Validated Winner fails to redeem their prize within fourteen (14) working days of notification, the individual’s right to the prize will automatically lapse.


9.1. The Competition and these T&Cs shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Ghana and where any provision of the T&Cs is adjudged by a court of competent jurisdiction as invalid, it shall not affect the remaining provisions in any way, to the extent possible.

9.2. All disputes, differences and/or claims, arising out of this Competition and the T&Cs, which are not resolved amicably within two (2) weeks of the dispute arising shall be resolved by an action in a court of competent jurisdiction.


10.1. The Agency (Publicis West Africa) reserves the right to cancel, amend or vary this Competition and the rules hereof at any time with or without prior notice to the General Public.

10.2. The Agency (Publicis West Africa) shall further reserve the right, at its sole discretion to refuse a prize winner their prize upon the said winner’s involvement in any of the following incidents:

  • Actual or suspected fraud in relation to the Competition; or any attempt to disrupt, tamper with or unfairly influence the Competition, or its operation mechanism.
  • Breach of any of the terms and conditions herein; and
  • Any other misconduct or unacceptable act as may be determined by the Agency (Publicis West Africa) and/or the Client.

10.3. In the event a Participant is disqualified, that Participant shall forfeit their prize. In addition, the Agency (Publicis West Africa) and/or the Client shall reserve the right to take appropriate legal action against the said Participant.
